It's Oyster Month at JAX!
High West Oyster Fest 2013

Emersum Oysters
Sometimes a little mystery in life can be a good thing… sometimes.
The thrill of the proverbial mysterious stranger, the challenge of untangling a Sherlock Holmes story, the uncertainty of embarking on a new business venture, even the momentary tingle of the “what’s behind door #2” decision can offer a little unexpected but gratifying, life affirming excitement every now and again.
And at other times, any amount of mystery is a terrible idea. Some things are just too important to leave to chance or fate. Our top three areas of required certainty would have to be Brain Surgery, Rocket Science and Oysters, not necessarily in that order. And while all three are pretty awesome in their own right, our area of expertise is Oysters. Top quality, fresh, delicious Oysters. READ MORE…

Rappahannock River Oyster Dinner
A night of delicious dining and spellbinding conversation
On Sunday, March 31st join Jax Denver as they welcome Ryan and Travis Croxton of Rappahannock River Oysters for a very special evening featuring the most delicious bi-valves known to man. The Chefs of Jax will team up to prepare an amazing menu while the Croxtons tell tales of restorative aquaculture and the art and science of growing some of the worlds most sought after boutique oysters. This will be an unforgettable evening of food, drink and storytelling. Don’t miss it – call Jax Denver at (303) 292-5767 for details and reservations.
Oyster Eating Contest
Can you eat 100 oysters?
The Jax Fish House Oyster Eating Contest (OEC) is a celebration of an amazing filter feeder of the sea. This charitable mollusk inspires these athletes to best the records of previous competitors, both in number of oysters eaten and in charitable funds raised. For 15 years, some version of this gustatory relay race has been taking place at one Jax Fish House or another, in Boulder, Denver or Fort Collins, but this year, the OEC, much like the best seafood in the ocean, has a SEASON. On consecutive weekends, in 2 cities, competitors of culinary consumption will have the opportunity to stuff themselves on oysters while they stuff the pockets of a local charity. READ MORE…
